We were very excited to get an advanced screening of the upcoming King Cobra movie, a story inspired by famous gay porn star Brent Corrigan’s true events during a Real Affirmation Film Festival in Washington DC. While we knew this is a movie, we might enjoy all the hot man and gay porn themes. It was a nice surprise at how enjoyable and good this movie was. Some would disagree that this is not. King Cobra’s movie is about a famous gay porn star Brent Corrigan played by Garret Clayton, the scandals around his career, and Cobra owner Bryan Kocis played by Christian Slater. In addition to James Franco, Keegan Allen, and Alicia Silverstone, both actors delivered a powerful story. It’s not just all series and naughty things with few corny humor moments that appear in an adult film before things about to get steamy.
This ripped-from-the-headlines drama covers the early rise of gay porn headliner Sean Paul Lockhart a.k.a. Brent Corrigan, before falling out with the producer who made him famous. When Sean decides he’d be better off a free agent, a cash-strapped pair of rival producers aim to cash in by any means possible.
You could be asking yourself, “I’m not gay, so should I see it?” Yes, you should! The movie is not just about porn, and you do not have to be gay to watch it. King Cobra is about people’s lives and intense high emotions that can override all reasons. All nudity and sexual context had a specific reason and contributed to the overall story instead of just drawing in horny gays. We don’t want to stay that it shows the dark side of the porn industry, and instead, it’s more about the dark side of people’s lives. I especially liked that the movie’s focus was not on how porn causes darkness and instead about people, lives, and actions that really bring about crazy things.
Everyone was talking about James Franco as a big star name in the movie. While he did deliver excellent performance, we were more interested in the former Disney actor Garrett Clayton who played Brent Corrigan. That boy looks amazing, and all his shirtless scenes might have just made us drool all over. Plus, it helps that he is a great across that took on a role to play the gay porn star. He delivered an amazing performance and allowed the character to develop over the length of the movie. In a way, we think he is way hotter than the original Brent Corrigan. He just created a whole lot of new thirsty queens. He actually recently appeared in an episode of The Real O’Neals as the main character’s first gay date. He might have been trying out some more gay acting. I really hope we see more of him in gay movies. Maybe with less clothing 😉
Keegan Allen also captivated us with his high strength performance and determined porn star who is very vulnerable and eventually unravels from the events and his past. Really, all he wants is a nice red viper car. Maybe don’t play with him while he has a knife.
I could be overanalyzing, but it really captivated and took me on a great ride in the movie’s short span. The darkness and desires drove them to do things the way they did. The fear of losing everything they achieved and attempts at creating something solid and control over aspects of lives. Of course, the hot shirtless man in tight underwear helped. Yes, there are no penises or genitals of any kind. Yea kind of wanted to see some of these actors fully naked. While a movie is about gay porn, it only shows imitation sex with people grinding each other though at times very explicit. A softer version of softcore porn. Still, you might not want to watch it with your grandma. King Cobra movie is still a very steaming movie with everyone constantly shirtless, six-packs, and hot bodies.
While I knew about the story and the upcoming ending from years back, it still came as a surprise. There was a feeling of sadness as I realized the hope of things working out between all these characters was gone. Actors delivered such a powerful performance that in a short time, I cared for them even if they were out of their minds. Real-life often has different things in store. However, we have to remember that this is a movie, and many things have been overdramatized from the real event that took place.
Silly straights, it’s not just for gays
This movie is not just for gay people, and any straight person can easily enjoy it. The storyline and characters are very compelling and would be of interest to anyone. However, you should be prepared for mile male nudity and sexual scenes. We watch straight movies with all that sex, so it would only be fair to take one for the team and watch this. Maybe there will be a more straight boy-friendly version? LOL
Finally Gay Thoughts
Is it the most amazing movie of the year? No, but it’s a good movie that I totally enjoyed and would watch again. It might be all the male nudity, but the movie left an impression and zeroed regrets after watching it. When it comes to movies, I rarely watch something other than sci-fi, fantasy, or comedy, but I was happy to make an exception on this rare occasion. This is one of those movies that everyone can enjoy. Maybe not your kids or grandma, but really sometimes you need to see grown-up stuff. Plus, lots of hot naked men!
